Two years. That's how long it has been since my surgery. Of course, 2 years ago, the weather around Los Angeles wasn't nearly as hot, and I weight twice as much as I do now. Here's hoping for me staying the course.

Day 480 - 160 Pounds Down
Amazingly enough, I noticed that I didn't put in a post on Friday December 02. Also note that I've not lost 160 pounds since 2 days prior to surgery. As of this writing, I'm still below that weight, so it lookst to be genuine.

Day 432 - Goal One Reached
I had a bout of sleepness this morning when I awake at 2:30AM and never could go back to sleep. Instead of fighting it, I just opted to start my day a bit early. Usually I sleep in a bit without the alarm clock waking me at 4:30AM. So instead of doing my exercise routine at 8AM on the weekend, I finished mine at 6:30AM today.
It's also been a week since I start wearing the new shoes full time. The result has been interesting. I've also dial my walk back up to 4MPH, and with the new shoes, it seemed much easier pace to maintain. I started using the Losit.com app & webpage to further track both my meal and exercise. Recording my Chinese meals will be a hit and miss proposition. I haven't been counting calories religiously up to this point, doing it now will be interesting.
This morning, I also reach my first goal of 174 pounds. Based upon my previous assumption, that should put me squarely in 25 BMI. However, it would seem that I've gotten an inch shorter, so I won't reach that goal until 168 pounds. If I stick to my current routine, I should get there by January.
Slight update:
After I made this post, I donated my 1 pint of blood to American Red Cross. With the amount of blood test I've been having in the past 11 years, I've always joke that I would make a terrible IV drug abuser since my vein is always hard to find. Today's drawing was entirely without hiccup. The technician find and tab on the vein in the first shot, and the actual drawing of the blood took 10 minutes, but the paperwork itself took 40 minutes. At least they took the blood this time. Here's what I look like 4 hours later:

Day 423 - 150 Pounds Down
After this morning's exercise, my weight in comes to 178 pounds. Which means I finally hit 150 pounds lost. Still have about 4 more pounds to go to my current goal of 174. This last 10 pounds took 69 days, or almost 7 weeks. Lets see how much longer that last stretch will take.

Day 403 - Nisemonogatari
I originally was going to post about the return of back pain I sort of experienced yesterday. However, the announcement of tv series adoptation of Nisemonogatari on January 2012 sort of made my day :). Here's the trailer:
No real details except the slight changes in character designs for Hitagi, Suruga, Nadeko, and Tsubasa (gee, that's more than half of the cast).
And SHAFT also released a trailer for the previous announced prequel Kizumonogatari:
Also, This is the one year anniversary of the blog. I don't play as much World of Warcraft as before, but I'm still blogging.

Day 365 - One Year Ago Today
I have my surgery one year ago at about 7AM PDT. Hard to believe, this is what I looked like that Monday afternoon, about 5 hours after the surgery:
This is what I look like this morning:
Even though 140lb loss is encouraging, this past month hasn't been as well as I can hope for. The number either moved in the wrong direction or it barely moved at all. I'll have more to say later.

Day 354 - 140 Pounds Down
Well, after flirting with the actual number, I hit 188 pounds this morning. This means I'm currently down 140 pounds. It took almost 8 weeks for me to loose that 10 pounds from the previous milestone. The good news is that my goal weight is now 14 pounds away.

Day 301 - 130 Pounds Down
After the horrendous none-morning-sleep-in the past 2 weekend days, I opted for the next best thing. I slept for 5 hours on Sunday afternoon in an attempt at catching up. Whatever it is, I still don't feel anywhere near awake yet, even as I'm typing this at 6AM.
I was pleasantly surprised at the scale this morning. 197.4lb, which means I'm now 130 pounds down from day of the surgery.
More updates later.

Finally, 200 pounds. Not yet in the Onelander territory, but more than within sight. These last 10 pounds took me 52 days to cover. Yeah, I'm definitely slowing on my weight loss. But I'm still aiming for my target weight of 175 pounds. 25 more to go.

Day 250 - 120 Pounds Down
Well, the last 10 pounds took much longer than all of the previous 10 pounds milestone, 43 days. These past 43 days have not been a walk in the park for me. Well, now that I'm out of on-call, out of training, it's shopping day for me. Lots of supplies I need to buy.

Day 208 - Best Laid Plan
I had planned to drive to Rose Hills directly from work on Friday. I figure that with no rain, the traffic should be easier. Well, by the time I got there, the place has been closed for 21 minutes. My father made the trip this morning instead of me.
With this morning's measurement, I've cross another milestone. 110 pounds loss since 2 days prior to surgery. However, with today's all Chinese meal (basil omelette, beef noodle soup, and more hot and sour soup), I'm a bit worry about what tomorrow's measurement will be.

Today by coincident is both my sixth month anniversary and a surgical follow up appointment. I don't think my vitamin test will be ready for this afternoon's check up.
Another milestone reach. I'm 227 pound as of weighting this morning. That's 101 pounds lower than the first entry on my online spreadsheet of statistics.
And as a follow up to yesterday's post, I know something was up when my primary physician ask me to repeatly cough as she does her comparison of my left and right lung function. After that, she had the assistant write up an order for me to go down stair to the radiology clinics and get chest x-ray taken. Waited 10 minutes, and got my chest zapped aft and side view. Not that anything actually shows up on the image (digitized image will be evaluated by radiologist), but she's treating it as if I have Community-acquired Pneumonia. I'm current on a 5 day course of anti-biotic treatment, and have another follow up with her next week.

Day 156 - 90 Pounds Down
I'm 90 pounds lighter this morning, since I started to keep track of my measurements 5 months ago. The last 10 pounds took almost twice as long as the previous 10 pound. But a gain is a gain. 90 down and about 70 more to go.

Day 126 - 80 Pounds Lost
I've lost 80 pounds since 2 days prior to the surgery. This particular 10 pound mile stone seemed to take longer than last time (3 weeks). But any gain towards my goal is better than no goal. I'm about half way through my targeted weight of 163 pound. Most literature I've read on the effect of the surgery states that the first 6 months is the golden period of weight loss. By 6th month, the body will have adjust to the new stomach, and the weight loss will become tougher.
Ran 4 Heroic instances, 2 of them as a replacement tank (Blackrock Cavern and Thrones of Tide). One of them lead by a guild healer (Heroic Shadowfang Keep), and one as an all guild run (Stonecore). Stonecore is definitely harder than the rest, but not impossible. Managed to pick up several pieces of upgrade, including the Earthen Ring revered head enchant. The guild also managed to grab the new Tol Barad raid run with whatever we have on-hand. Since not all guild raiders have gotten up to level 80 (and geared yet), the raid make up is weird. After 3 wipes, we got him down.
I now have a bit of decision to make. I level Earthen Ring reputation for the head enchant. Their epic plate item does nothing for my tanking. Wildhammer Clan's epic tanking plate boot is great for me, but it's at exalted. Guardians of Hyjal has a easily reached tanking neck piece at honored, which if I go through their entire quest chain, I should be able to reach. Ramkahen at Uldum has both an epic tanking wrist and the fun camel mounts. After one week, my time playing WoW will be much more limited, not to mention that today I start my on-call agian.

Day 103 - Death of Pre-Catalysm Guild Raid
A month ago, I wrote that with the advent of patch 4.0.1, Pick up Group raid is all but dead. Well, with the advent of patch 4.0.3 this week, and the expansion 2 weeks away, it would seem that even the guild raid is going the way of the pug raid. Which is a shame since we have one more person that's just waiting for his post Shadowmourne Lich King kill to distribute his loots. We may have to ditch hard mode just to give him his just reward.
Went to the barber to get my hair cut. While she confirm that I'm not loosing any hair (as far as she can tell), she did told me that my head is a lot smaller. Didn't know I can store so much fat under my scalp.
Oh, today I cross the 70lb line. All the while I ramp up my walking routine to 3.3 mph while doing it for 30 minutes.

Day 84 - 60 Pounds Lost
So, I've officially lost 60 pound today. I can walk much further than prior to surgery. I still have a very messed up sense of hunger. 60 pound. And we're half way through the honeymoon period of weight loss.
I woke up 1 hour early. It would appear that being on-call and sleep does not agree with each other.
I think I can safely avoid French Onion Soup for lunch in the future. It just does not agree with me.

Day 65 : World of Warcraft Patch 4.0.1 Day 2
To no one's surprise (except Blizzard's official new release), the game did not come up until 5PM PDT. I was attending the support group, so I didn't get home until 8:30PM. Thankfully the guild realized that there is no way in hell we're raiding on the biggest patch ever for the game. Not only is lots of mod that people have been depending on broken (Thank god I got Grid back), but the class mechanics have changed so much that it's unwise to forge ahead. We did a 3 drake Sartharian 10, and I was the lone tank. I still have not get a hang of the mechanics because people are pulling aggro off from me frequently. The good news for me is Black Drake drop for me. Mount #124.
