Day 1239 - Mists of Pandarian Day 460

New raid week.  With 2 days left on the holiday event, my first priority is to get the world boss for the pet.  And the next thing to do is to go back to Pandarian capital for the weekly allotment of the bonus coin trade in.  With some reminder from some Warcraft blogger, I've also started to send my toons to Timeless Isle for the almost free 45g per day for answering question.  That's 405 gold for just showing up.  Not insignificant amount when I'm going broke making JC mount.

I send my Death Knight through LFR4, and got her a new tanking leg.  Unfortunately, LFR being what it is, I never managed to get Garrosh down in the final boss.

Last day of the raid week.  I still run around getting the daily holiday world boss to try getting the new pet.  This is what I think is perhaps the only advantage of having so many alts.  I get 9 shot per day on this boss.  I finished up the third jewelcrafter mount.  4 down and 1 to go.  Too bad the one I just made is the cheap one.  The next one will be a bit more expensive.

Took my main through second Flex instance.  It actually went rather smoothly, me getting a new tank per each new encounter notwithstanding.  And then I tried Flex 3, which starts at Spoils of Pandaria.  Now, most tank really only want Flex 3 for the first boss for the trinket.  We got close to finishing it, but it fall apart at the end.  After that, we never got another attempt in.  I actually got the LFR version of the tier helm later when I ran the lfr myself.  Only 12 more secrets to go.

Spend the morning at the car dealership getting maintenance done.  Good thing that the dealership actually upgraded their free wi-fi, and it's considerably more reliable than my previous experience.  I managed to finish the holiday daily quest on all 9 toons, got some points towards pushing my main to weekly valor point cap and done some fishing quest on my monk.  Not too bad of a way to spend my time in a captive environment.

I bought a whole bunch of Robert R. McCammon ebook early this week.  I never got too far into Speaks the Nightbird due to its sheer size and holding the book.  I'm giving it another shot this time around using Kindle edition.  Interesting departure from his previous novels.

I guess I'll continue to grind out the epic quest item on my main, and get the rest of my toon pass the pvp hurdle.

Car trouble today.  My auxiliary battery finally gave out today, requiring jump by AAA.  I had to scrapped my plan to get it replace by the dealer, since the battery won't hold charge anymore.

I managed to farm 2 more quest item for my main.  Doing it have been painful.  It's absurd when I'm #4 on the damage meter, and I'm the tank.

Christmas day 2013.  I wait around for the yearly presents quest to show up.  It really doesn't help that the usual bunch of jerks mount up in their giant mount making it difficult for anyone to get the quests done.  Since I have a dinner tonight to attend to, I opted not to do too much.  I did get my warlock's Temple PVP quest done.  Now, 7 more toons need that done.

New raid week.  After running all of my toons through daily world boss for Winter Veil event, I settled down to do all of my toons that still need Weekly Celestials.  I managed to snag a regular Tier 16 leg for my monk's tanking set.  I was a bit surprised that I was able to swap out the existing leg for a tier 16 LFR token, which I immediately use it for my dps offset leg.  Hey, it beats my current option, which is using an Tier 15 tanking leg.  Surprisingly enough, I'm one piece away from finishing up my Tier 16 dps set for my monk...

After finished up the second chapter of the epic quest, I had to head back to doing the first 2 wings of Siege raid repeatly to get 20 Secret of the Empire.  Fortunately as a tank, my queue time is low, and I managed to snag 3 by going through all of LFR yesterday.  I also managed to get my 4 piece bonus, which does take a bit of practice to use.  Using it properly is quit powerful.  I might have to change my talent to fully take advantage of it.

After 5k worth of repair bill, I finally killed Flex version of Thok the Bloodthirsty.  Nothing dropped, but at least I got that off my back.  For a good measure, I also managed to win the Temple of Kotmogu battleground, finished off my main's Chapter 2 quest line.  Unfortunately, the resulting weapon mod does not work on my current weapon.  Well, a nice piece of reminder.

I ran my hunter through Sunwell Plateau again in hope of getting the legendary bow, didn't get it, but I did get Golden Bow of Quel'Thalas, something that I can actually transmorg my current range weapon with.  I can always change it back if I got bored with the look.

More quality time spend on Underhold again.  While I was not able to finished him off, I did rack up quit a bit of repair bill.  I now have quit a bit of experience doing Spoils of Pandaria, having done that 3 times, I know how to do it correctly.  While trying not to bang my head against the keyboard, I actually managed to finished Silvershard Mine battleground.  One small step towards finishing the epic quest.

Ever since the start of the Winter Veil holiday event, I've been flying my 9 toons up to Western Plagueland, and then moving them to do the world boss event one by one.  The constant ganking have eased up a bit so I was able to complete that without much difficulty.  I've been getting mostly junks.  Did get 1 Minature Winter Veil Tree dagger on my rogue.  I can probably sell it for transmogrification purpose.  I got a couple of lump of coal and one Rotten Helper Box.  This is the primary reason for me to do these event.

Spend some more quality time on Underhold Flex today.  While I was not able to get pass Thok the Bloodthirsty, I was able to pick up an upgrade tanking shield from Spoils of Pandaria.  The repair bill is really mounting up.

Having hitched a ride with a guild run Flex Raid spoiled me quit a bit.  While I blew through the first two wings of Flex with minimum downtime, the third wing is giving me fits.  The first boss is the boss that most tanks want due to the very good tanking trinket that he drops.  That being said, I did it, replacing the LFR version.  I spend some quality time with the Flex Underhold tonight, and it's amazing how many people still treat it like LFR.  Hey, something is better than nothing.

So I decided to join the cross realm flex raid by listing my main (Protection Paladin) in the browser list. I got pick almost immediately. I died a couple of times, got a bunch of stuff I actually didn't need. Finish off the first two flex wings. Yesterday I also took my mage off to the starting zone for Dwarves and Gnomes to farm for 50 low level eggs from the appropriate mobs. This allows me to finish the annual Winters Veil quest for all of my toons, my bank alt included. Last day of the raid week. Today is also the first day of the 2 week Winters Veil event with a new pet possible from the daily world boss. Unfortunately for me, the Horde faction on my realm is rather determined that no one from Alliance does the world boss and ganking anyone around. New raid week.  This week, I've decided to play my main character a bit more, seeing that she's been somewhat neglected.  And for doing that, I managed to upgrade my shield and a tier set glove.  Now I just have to get either the tier head or leg pieces to complete the set.

I paid my vehicle registration fee yesterday, online.  I didn't like spending for postage, and I personally preferred to settle all of my bills as soon as I can.  So it's e-check for me.  California DMV website seem to be designed by the folks that have absolutely no idea how normal user would use the site.  For putting in long digits and numbers (routing number and account information) you'd figure most people would've just copy and paste that information in.  Nope, that feature is deliberately turn off.  I have no idea why, but hey, I can type.  It's then I found the second stupid thing, all of the number are blocked off, as if I'm typing in a password.  Now I cannot confirm what I type in.  Good thing for me that I actually did managed to put in the numbers in correctly and I save a bit of money by registering early.  But seriously, this is stupid.

So tomorrow we get the mysterious patch 5.4.2, which includes a mount which no one have any idea on how to acquire it yet.  Lets hope it's doable for me.

Took a bit of a break from endless running LFR and had my Druid finish off both Tier 6 raid.  I got 3 out of 5 Tier 16 pieces.  I should get the rest of it next week.  I also run some of them through the Obsidian Sanctuary for some easy loot and bag.  Too bad the bag is uniquely equip, or I would've upgraded all of my bank containers.

I spent today getting quite a few of my toons through Karazhan.  Still no flaming horse, but I did get a couple of pets that sells pretty quickly.  My mage got the same trinket off Garrosh, but my druid did get the nice damage over time trinket off from the Dark Shaman.  The random number generator is weird sometimes.

My rogue got another dagger off from last boss from Underhold.  I already exhausted the 2 LFR where I have a chance of getting loot, as well as the weekly Celestial world boss.  Next week.

Shaping up to be a very frustrating day of LFR.  I tried Downfall twice on two different toons.  Both time got stucked at Garrosh.  Fortunately for me, one of them doesn't really that boss.  Just for giggle and grin, I took my rogue through normal Obsidium Sanctum 10 man normal.  The boss is seriously easier than the yagol elites on Timeless Isle.  Was working on Ruby Sanctum's last mini-boss before the LFR for Gate of Retribution pop.  Well, still haven't gotten to the final boss of that LFR yet.

I had one run with the mage on Downfall.  The tanks's quality eroded as the week goes by, and today's tand was seriously on the no-countdown pull.  The boss is more than willing to wipe the raid, so why shouldn'twe oblige?

Thanksgiving 2013.  Well, I didn't go to sleep until 1AM this morning thanks to some rather insistent clients in Hong Kong that think my group is responsible for their issue.  After that, I still awake at 5:30AM.  Not my usual time of waking up, but still, not good for me.

I took my hunter through another LFR, and came up empty handed.  The next toon I quque is my rogue.  I have to run two seperate LFR runs to get Downfall through.  I got a leg token piece that I don't need.  Now it's my mage's turn.

For a change of strategy, I decided to ramp up one toon to Valor Point cap, so the rest of my character can reap the reward.  So I ran my warlock through the last 3 instances where there might be upgraded gear for me.  The only thing I did managed to get that is an upgrade is an offhand that my mage has, but this is a better fit for this toon.  I also ran my hunter through both weekly celestial as well as 2 LFR run.  The celestials did reward my patience with a normal iLevel tier leg piece, the first boss of Downfall gave me a new shoulder piece.  While the second boss of Downfall gave me a better bow for my spec.

Went to the orthopedic specialist today to get that toe nail looked at.  Much to my relief, it's only a subdermal bruise that the doctor lanced with a scapel and bandaged.  This means that my normally scheduled tasks that I was afraid I won't get to actually can be done.  Of course, I wasn't dressed correctly for the occasion, but  better to get to the cemetary than not going there.

I'm still getting nothing interesting from LFR, going mainly for Downfall segment, as it has most bang for the bucks for my limited time.

Unlike yesterday, I only have time to run 3 toons through LFR, my Druid, Hunter and Paladin.  The Druid got the same off hand that Shadow Priest got.  Since she already got a spirit hammer from the final boss, this goes fine.  Hunter didn't get anything useful, but did use the Burden of Eternity to make a cloak.

Finally got my Paladin through the final LFR.  I got through the first 2 boss fine, but the final boss did give me fit.  After the 4th wipe, I finally have to stop for the night and go to sleep.  Still, I think I got the mechanics down.

I didn't go anywhere today, so I have time to do LFR on many of my toons.  Took Death Knight, Mage, Warlock, Shadow Priest and Rogue through LFR.  The mage did 2 LFR.  The Death Knight  got a tier 16 chest piece, completing the 4 piece bonus.  Mage got a non-Tier piece that isn't an upgrade.  The Warlock got 3 piece of gears she already got.  The Shadow Priest got a nice off hand.  I also took time to go get the matching belt and shoes for her.  She also got the staff that she doesn't need, but nice to have.   The Rogue also got gear she already own.  Well, that's loot chance.

More rep grinding on Timeless Isle.  Today is Shadow Priest, Balance Druid and Survival Hunter's turn. Though she's done with collecting Tier piece, the Shadow Priest still have gears that needs upgrade.  She got a LFR belt for her trouble.  The hunter got a weird trinket, and the druid got mainhand that doesn't provide upgrade until she gets the offhand.  Not a bad day, but not great.

Surprisingly enough the weekly patch and reboot of Warcraft went faster than I anticipated, giving me more time to play.  I now spend time finishing up Timeless Isle daily on my Paladin and the toons that needs the reputation points to get the trinket to get me to Timeless Isle.  And then I go on my toons that's queueing up for the LFR.  Today, I managed to get Mage and Warlock through the system.  Didn't get a thing, but I did swap out the boots for Warlock to something a bit more appropriate using the Burden of Eternity.

Took 3 of my casters through Downfall, the final wing of the Siege LFR.  The Warlock only got to the final boss, and came away empty handed.  My Shadow Priest also only got the third boss, albeit, she did get an universal set piece token, which I exchange for a glove.  She now has her 4 piece bonus, not quit as game breaking as the mage's, but good none the less.  Finally my Balance Druid got her chance, and she actually got all of the boss for a change.  The group was less than perfect, and lots and lots of wipe ensued.  I also got an universal set piece token, for which I change it to a shoulder piece for the 4 piece bonus.  It's quit nice.

Tomorrow morning at 8AM, I'll start my vacation.  Can't wait.

Day 1180 - Mists of Pandarian Day 401

Finally decided to go into the last leg of the LFR.  The first toon to go in is my mage.  When I did it, I was a wee bit drowsy, and almost fall asleep a couple of time.  The last time I queue, my warlock didn't get a good look at anything.  This time though, my mage took 1 wipe on the first boss, and actually one shotted the other 2 bosses.  I managed to get a ring off the second boss and the 4th piece of Tier 16 out of the final boss (he drops universal tier token).  Afterward, I was a wee bit short on Valor Point for upgrade, so I ran a couple of scenario and dungeon instance to get the points.  The 4 piece bonus is very nice when you have 40% critical strike chance.

Day 1179 - Mists of Pandarian Day 400

Took my Warlock, Shadow Priest and Rogue through LFR yesterday.  My shadow Priest struck out with no loot.  Warlock got a new non-tier glove from the extra loot bag, and the rogue got a slightly different dagger for main hand.  Not a great night, but not a lootless one either.

My druid actually got a matching sets of regular raid gear from Celestials.  Still trying to get the chest piece to get the 4 piece bonus.  Still no luck.

I've reach a point when I should start spend some of that almost useless timeless coins.  Most of my characters have well over 50k coins.  It can either buy a Burden of Eternity or the iLevel 535 trinket.  I have my fair share of farming the Burden of Eternity and I've been upgrading them as I go along.  But the trinket cannot be upgraded from the Burden, thus, buying them isn't that much of an issue.  For some of the characters, the upgraded trinket is a tremendous upgrade, for some, I'm having problem justifying the price.  But upgrade is upgrade.

During my journey through Alhambra on Friday, I went to the nearby Chinese supermarket and pick up a bunch of basil leaves to supplement my morning eggs.  I went ahead and sliced up some of the pork we have in the freezer and marinated with soy sauce and vinegar.  For some reason, we didn't have any ginger left, so I have to leave that out, but the result is still good.  Next time, I'll try less soy sauce and substitute it with cooking liquor.
