I spend a good chunk of the day searching for the elusive fallen log to get the Alliance Barov NPC to join my garrison. I'm not sure if this is strictly necessary, but I believe I've already unlocked the lumber mill achievement for level 3. I'll probably not going out of my way to do this in the future.
