Day 689 - Walking

I decided to skip the treadmill this morning and go instead to the gym for the elliptical machine exercise.  Combining that with Costco shopping trip and my afternoon walk in and around the mall actually yielded about 12k steps.  Not that it shows up in the weight measurement.

Day 687 - Sprang Angle

The size of my left angle left me alarm this morning.  I decided to skip the morning walk and see if it gets better.  I still feel tightness on it.  Perhaps I can do the gym this afternoon.

Day 686 - Demon Hunter Second Go Around

Now that I'm concentrating on just one character, leveling her is actually fairly fast.  That and the fact that I can equip her with gears far outstrip her current level (gem from Nightmare difficulty) makes her a far more well rounded character than my other toons at similar level.  I went through Act I and II in two days, and I'm 1/3 through Act III.  I fully expect to finish that tonight.

Day 685 - An Afternoon At The Dentist

I had a dental appointment this afternoon to fix a broken filling.  That in itself wasn't too bad.  Unfortunately, I also have two teeth that needs deep cleaning.  That was an unsettling experience.

Sorry for another late post.

I decided to do the Diablo III in public group play.  It does play differently.  Unfortunately in my haste of juggling my characters around, I accidentally deleted m Demon Hunter character.  Well, no point in crying over spill milk, time to level that character back up to level 36, this time, focusing solely on her.

Day 682 - Deviation from Schedule

Due to the fact that I have to go to a very early screening 20 miles away this morning, I didn't have time to do my usual morning walk.  Instead, I opted to skip the morning walk and just do the elliptical machine before lunch.  This time, I did the whole 30 minutes of exercise.  Perhaps in the future, I can just do this in the morning.  It's much easier on my knees.

I hate loosing things.  Yet again, I managed to loose the Fitbit between my office and home (with side trip to the cemetery).  If my head wasn't connected to my neck, I'd probably loose that as well.

Day 680 - Another Episode of Hypoglycemia

Very odd.  Tonight as I lay down about to go to sleep, I noticed that I'm experiencing another episode of hypoglycemia.  Usually this is triggered by me eating too much food or sweet.  But in this particular case, I haven't ate anything in 2 hours.  I did eat the bambo leave wrappped sticky rice, which is very high in glycemic index.  Still, the crash, if it's triggered by that should've come earlier.  In any event, I went down to the computer room, draw blood (57 mg/DL, very low by my standard).  And I ate a Healthy Choice Premium Fudge Bar (100 calories).  That seem to stabilize my blood sugar.

Day 679 - Gym Wednesday

Sorry about the late post.  Just slipped my mind.

Sometimes on Tuesday night, I somehow sprang my left angle.  While it really doesn't affect how I walk or exercise, it's somewhat annoying.  I still managed to get my 25 minutes of elliptical machine exercise done.

Day 678 - Elliptical Ramp Up

I had a good work out yesterday at the gym.  I went ahead and did 25 minutes of elliptical machine exercise and feel fine afterward.  I did my walk this morning without ill effect.  I really need to get the machine at home so I can forgo the knee bracer I need to wear doing my walk.  It makes my exercise so much easier.

Day 677 - Diablo III Normal Mode

Out of the five classes of characters, I've finished this game on normal mode on 4.  The last one (ironically the first character I play in this game) is Wizard, and I suppose I'll finish it today.  The game is fun, and the only motivation I have of continuing to play is to see how the upper level version of various spells works.  When I finished the game, all of the character are at level 32 (except for the level 33 Demon Hunter).  It will be a couple of more months before the next Warcraft expansion comes out, so I have plenty of time to grind this through.

I made a conscious effort to hydrate myself last night with extra glasses of water.  I guess it did show up in the number.

Since my weight have been fairly stable for the past 6 months, I feel that it's safe for me to buy suits.  The local store have a buy one get one free sale (no, I didn't go there for that), so I took advantage of that.  We'll see the result later.

Day 675 - Gym Saturday

I was able to watch some recorded TV show on gym today.  The 20 minutes went by pretty fast, and I was definitely ready for more.  But I need to get really used to this current pace before I start ramping up again.  I'm debating on whether to do the gym again tomorrow, or just wait for Monday.  In either event, I'm going to have to clear up some space in the back room to put in an elliptical machine, since I really enjoy working out on that (no knee strap required).  I'll probably still keep the gym membership.  The back room is uninsulated, which  means that I cannot use it in the summer afternoon.

Day 673 - Diminished Vision

While I'm happy with my eye procedures (other than the pain and the slow recovery time), one thing I kind of missed is my diminished eyesight in the dark.  Not that I used to be able to see in the dark, but ever since the procedures, I have great difficulty reading in dimly lite environment.  This also makes wearing sunglasses a challenge, since I have to take them off indoor as they greatly affect how I read things.  Well, it's a trade off.

Day 672 - Gym Wednesday

I weight in at 164lb this morning.  My lowest weight since my surgery.  This is actually not a case for joy as I know perfectly well that I'm just dehydrated.  After I have problem going back to sleep yesterday, I basically went through the whole day on caffeine.  I must have drank over 10 shots of coffee.  Adding to that, I also forgot to re-engage the alarm clock, so I overslept this morning.

To counter all this (my right calf muscle has the pre-cramp symption), I added a banana in my morning protein shake.  I'm drinking some warm water right as I'm typing this.  And I'll need to drink more tonight as I go back to the gym again.

I woke up at 2:30AM this morning.  No particular reason.  I'm not on-call, and that didn't wake me up.  Unfortunately for me, I can't seem to go back to sleep after being awaken this close to my normal alarm hours. Fortunately for me, I went to bed early, so it wasn't a total sleepless night for me.

I had a doctor's appointment, and after that, went directly to the gym.  I'm going to need a better gym bag.  The duffle bag from REI is designed to haul heavy gear, not what I need.  Anyway, I'm comfortable enough that I should go ahead and ramp up on the next exercise (Wednesday).

Day 668 - End of Month 22

It's been a while since I remember to mark the passing of months on this blog.  Sorry for being complacent.  It's now been 22 months since my operation that changed my life.  For the past six to seven months, my weight have remain stable.  For a change, I don't feel like hitting a stall, but at a natural weight.  I still have a good chunk of excess skin below my belly and some around various part of my body.  That part can wait.

I work from home yesterday in an attempt to get some more sleep and not fighting traffic.  I was able to get plenty of things done.  Since I had a working session starting at 6PM, I decided to go to the gym early and get that workout done before committing myself to the long and very boring call.

While on the elliptical machine, I first set for a 20 minutes cardio workout.  After 5 minutes, I thought better of it and decided to just do my usual 15 minutes.  Still a good workout, but I'm not quit ready to ramp up just yet.

My attempt at getting continuous sleep last night went awry when I got paged at 2AM and 2:30AM.  And in one more week, I'll be doing all of this again.

Day 666 - Very Long Day

My day starts at Midnight when I got woken up by an incident call.  I went back to sleep 2 hours later, and then wake up by my alarm clock at 4:30 AM.  After doing my morning exercise, I only got 1/2 way through preparing my breakfast before more incidents force me to abandond the rest of my meal and drive to work.  As a result, I only had my breakfast protein shake, and I make up the rest of my breakfast with coffee and protein bar.  The rest of the day is just as bad.

Lets hope for a quieter tomorrow.

Day 665 - Gym Night Wednesday

I really need to get a small lock for the locker in the gym.  Not that it'll deter serious thief, but just give me a small piece of mind.

I did a full 15 minutes of cardio elliptical exercise today, which means I did 17.5 minutes of it.  I think I'm getting ready to step up to 20 minutes.  My goal of course eventually is to do this more than 3 nights a week, and 30 minutes at a time.  But I must build myself up first before I can attempt that.  Thus far, not wearing knee bracer haven't affect me at all.  I can't say the same thing about my treadmill walk.  I cannot do that without the bracer.

After that exercise, I treat myself to a simple salt and pepper grill pork for dinner.


It's delicious.

Day 664 - Busy Day

It's amazing how much you can get done without full position of your work computer.  I'm getting a replacement, and it's taking me much of the whole day to get some semblance of the new computer to a point where I'm kind of happy with.  Tomorrow, I'll be re-doing power supply and all of the cables.  Fun.

Day 663 - Gym Night Monday

I think I got the gym schedule work out now.  Monday, Wednesday, Saturday.  This has the added benefit of not clashing with my support meeting Tuesday and my usual Friday Rose Hills run.

Did my 15 minutes of cardio exercise on the elliptical machine.  I'm trying not to overexert myself and at least try to hydrate myself after the routine.  I'll probably either extend the time or add more session in the future when I'm up to it.

Day 661 - Leg Cramp

I usually have a long drive on Friday evening when I go from Alhambra to my house.  Yesterday's drive was slower than usual, and I had another episode of leg cramp while doing the stop and go drive on the freeway.  It wasn't the worse episode, but I didn't have a way of getting off that road.  After a while I decided to use my left foot to do the peddling.  It's a bit weird doing this but after about 10 minutes, my right leg recovered enough for me to use it again.  I guess the smart thing to do in the future is to avoid this kind of traffic.

Ever since I stop loosing weigh (around October 2011), my weight have fluctuated between 167 and 172 pounds.  I suppose I finally hit my equilibrium.  Well, it's time to put up some muscle.
